Piglet with a Monkey shaped face born in China

This particular story is especially intriguing because it shows how animal mutations can look very much like some of the cryptids being described by different people across the globe. Below is a picture of the little piglet some would describe as "monstrous" and some,as described in the article below it, are afraid to even look at.
I happen to think the odd looking little fellow is rather cute. After all, I do have a soft spot for mutants. *wink*
Have a fabulous Thursday,my fledglings!

The animal has a simian jaw, bulging forehead, small snout and eyes that are so close together that they appear almost attached.
Its front legs are much shorter than its back legs, causing it top hop rather than walk on all fours like a normal piglet.
The animal was one of five piglets recently born to a sow owned by a family in Fengzhang village, Xiping township.
“It’s hideous. No one will be willing to buy it, and it scares the family to even look at it,” owner Feng Changlin told the Oriental Today newspaper.
But the monkey-piglet has become something of a local tourist attraction, with people coming from across the area to photograph its remarkable features.
And not everyone in the family is disgusted by its appearance.
“Our son likes to play with it, and he stopped us from getting rid of it. He even feeds it milk,” said Mr Feng’s wife.
The piglet’s rare condition is thought to be caused by a form of holoprosencephaly, a brain development disorder that can cause cyclopia, the failure of eyes to properly separate.

  1. Thank you David!
You have yourself a fantastic day as well!

  2. We're all certainly glad you ain't prejudice against us mutants.

  3. It's a shame such creatures are regarding as 'evil', but glad it wasn't killed. Still, a strange looking creature...imagine if no-one knew about it and it esacped and was encountered in a dark wood...a bizarre encounter!

  4. I think it is cuuuuute!!!

    Wonder what caused the "mutation?"

You should see the new dolphin that's been identified off the coast of Australia. People have been calling it "ugly" but I find it interesting-looking. Looks more like a whale. There is a brand new story on it in Cryptomundo if you'd like to take a gander at it.

Actually, these folks should be glad they were privileged enough to be in ownership of something like that. They could make money off the little feller exhibiting him. People are already lining up to see him, so why not turn it to good use? A dark hole may actually contain light at the end of it.

    Good story, Raven.

  5. It's Manbearpig!
(maybe if we give it time it will fly as well!)

  6. You rock,Gummer.
You always have such valuable scientific evaluations.
Your keen analysis of this subject
is unmatched in its quality and knowledge.
    Move over Pedro!....

    Im voting for Gummer!

  7. Thanks for all the comments guys.
    Who couldnt love a monkey-faced piglet,ya know?
One thing though...I hope the little guy isnt in pain or anything.
I know sometimes those afflictions arent just strange looking, theyre downright uncomfortable.
